Let me begin my speech with a replay of scenes familiar to most, if not all, of those present here today.

take. take. take.. The relationship between a mother and a child always seems to follow such a pattern. I know my mother is always there for me, providing me with everything I need; from food to clothing, from tuition to pocket money. I never thought twice about all she did until one day she said,

Like a child endlessly asking, we humans, throughout history, have been continually demanding what we desire from nature. We enjoy the comfort and beauty of our furniture, yet we never bother to think about the serious soil erosion caused by deforestation. We take it for granted that we must warm ourselves in winter times, yet we seldom realize the burning away of precious natural appreciate all the prosperity from the development of modern industry, yet few would give the slightest consideration to the global air and water pollution caused by industrial wastes. Our ruthless exploitation has permanently impaired our mother we tragically learned from last summer's floods. We cannot continue our carelessness. Finally, standing here at the threshold of the 21st century, we cannot help thinking of our posterity. Nature is not only the mother of the present generation, but

also the mother of the generations to come. How severely our descendents will criticize us if we leave them a barren and lifeless mother? How much more they will appreciate us if we give them a world of harmony to inherit? Let us start respecting and caring for nature from now on. 想必大家还记得著名作家欧·亨利的小说《最后一片叶子》中的这句话：“当最后一片叶子落下时，生命就都结束了，我也得离开这个世界而去了。……酷爱生活的女画家约翰西，患了肺炎濒临大限时，“害怕在她轻轻抓着这个世界的手越来越乏力的时候，她会真的像一片轻轻的、纤弱的叶子那样，随深秋的寒凤飘逝而去”。初读这篇小说时，少年不识愁滋味，对主人公那仿佛病态的痴语我并不以为然，而正是在人类对绿色顶礼膜拜，绿色食品，绿色能源、绿色电脑、绿色冰箱，绿色建筑被人们广为崇尚的今天，重读小说《最后一片叶子》，才感悟到，这分明是一个寓言故事，约翰西的心语，分明是谷世之言，大籁希声。绿色环境是健康自然的一种象征。

绿色能带给我们生机、带给我们活力，而绿色校园中的“绿色”也就不只是一种颜色那么简单。走进我们如今洋溢着书香味的校园，你会被那迷人的风景所吸引。高大现代化的教学楼，郁郁葱葱的树木，还有鲜艳夺目、争奇斗艳的花卉。漫步在校园里这一派绿景下，会使你感到精神振奋、心情舒畅。校园中的绿色风景，对我们同学是极其有益的。

绿色是大自然赠与我们人类的宝贵财富，绿色是人类文明的摇篮。人人都渴望拥有一个美好的家园，人人都希望生活在人与自然和谐发展的文明环境里。近年来相应“创建卫生城市”的号召，我们的校园环境也正在发生着全面的变化，校园环境建设是我们必须直面的问题，校园绿化程度直接作用于我们的生活环境，决定着校园生活的几多色彩，当然，绿色校园不只是环境绿化与垃圾处理问题，其涵义应更广更深，指一种健康向上的生活态度和生活方式，比如，严肃活泼的学习氛围，积极进取的班级精神风貌等。创建绿色校园，不仅只是要有优美的硬件环境，更应该提高我们自身的修养和素质，这也是我们的责任和义务。人人都是护绿天使，我们要用绿色的实际行动去影响周围的人。我们更应该保护校园环境，共建绿色校。为了共创绿色校园，我们同要携起手来。让我们共同做到如下几点：

1、立即行动起来，关心、支持和爱护绿化，积极参与校园绿化建设和管理，从小事做起，从一点一滴做起，从身边做起;

2、爱护花草树木设施，对破坏绿化设施的行为要敢于制止并举报。

3、养成良好卫生习惯，不随意乱扔瓜皮果壳、烟头，不随地吐痰。

4、不使用污染环境浪费资源的产品，特别是不使用一次性碗筷和少使用塑料袋;

5、树立和倡导绿色文明意识，积极参加校园爱绿护绿行动;

6、勤俭节约，节约校园内的各种资源，随手关好水龙头和电灯电扇，节约每度电，节约每滴水、师生和谐，同学之间友好相处，语言文明，行为规范。

8、一切都以更高的目标束缚要求自己，将自己培养为有文明素质，全面发展的优秀中学生。

同学们，我们是21世纪的主人，环保意识是现代人的重要标志。我们应当切实地树立起时代责任感。“勿以善小而不为，勿以恶小而为之”，共建绿色校园，同护地球母亲，让我们行动起来，将绿色作为我们校园生活的主旋律，用爱心去关注环境的变化，用热情去传播环保的理念，用行动肩负起环保的重任。
